I once heard the comment that if you're going to make a real permanent change for a healthier life, you need a live-it rather than a die-t. That has always stuck in the back of my mind, particularly now when I'm working hard to lose the pregnancy pounds. I despise working out. I know that if I'm going to stick with exercise, getting myself to a gym machine isn't going to work. Group fitness classes are boring and not my thing either. On the other hand, I do love sports - tennis, swimming, basketball, soccer, hiking - whatever! That means that I usually find myself very active in the summer and sedentary in the winter. All my friends in other states have access to all sorts of sports through their jobs or just local groups but I haven't heard of anything here in CT. Does anyone know some sporting activities for adults, ideally in the evening? We're not in shape for anything too competitive. Just something fun and to get us active.
